The first 10 years of the new millennium have come to a close. No matter what life has brought you in the past few years you can be sure that this next year will be the best 2011 you have ever had. That is our sincere wish for all of you. We are very happy to announce (drum roll please) that we are celebrating our 50th year in business. Darwin and Clara started in the tiny office on the main street of Carnation with and a typewriter and an adding machine. We continue to provide outstanding tax services at reasonable prices in a personal atmosphere.
With the close of 2010 we finally to the part of the year we like the best, TAX TIME! Everyone is healthy, well rested and ready to go. We have paid our fees, complied with the government rules and received our new IRS id’s for completion of all your tax needs. Nothing was a surprise to us. We have been complying with the “new” IRS rules for over 2 decades. We take IRS sponsored training and read hundreds of pages every year to keep up. It never stops.
Some of the changes you may have heard about is (another drum roll please) you all get a 2% raise! The IRS has lowered the rate that you will pay on your gross social security wages from 6.2% to 4.2%; a welcome relief.
On another note, if you know someone that has been using an off the shelf tax package and has been doing it the same way for 10 years they probably have been paying too much to the IRS. Let us help. The tax law nuances are just too complex for point and shoot software.
In other news, we now take Visa and Master Card. You talked, we listened. If you are interested, just ask about it when you come in. Of course we are still giving you the ability to reduce your tax preparation costs. Just give a friend or family member the envelope that this letter came in or have them mention your name and they will receive 10% off tax preparation fees and so will you.
See you soon, and as always, with a smile on our face and a song in our heart.
